Visiting Regulations For Las Vegas / Clark County Jails

Oct 20, 2018Blog, Legal Tips

8-Ball Bail Bonds always recommends arranging bail for friends or loved ones who have been incarcerated pending trial. Aside from the emotional distress and added difficulty coping with an unforeseen incarceration, defendants ALWAYS have better success during trial without the preconceived notion that they are already in detainment and with the ability to appear in court without the restrictions of pre-trial incarceration and inmate uniforms. In the event bail is unavailable, or if someone you know has already been sentenced, the below information may serve as a guide relating to the policies and general rules for visiting an inmate in the Clark County, Las Vegas, Henderson and Southern Nevada areas.

When planning to visit someone who is incarcerated in a Las Vegas or Clark County detention center, it is important to familiarize yourself with the regulations of the specific prison or jail you will be going to. Failing to observe the policies of the specific location will result in you not being permitted to visit an inmate. Below are a list of local Las Vegas, Henderson, and Jean NV jails and prisons, along with the respective visitation policies.

8-Ball Bail Bonds also recommends making sure that individuals visiting any Nevada detention center make sure in advance that they do not have any outstanding warrants or legal issues. If you do, there is a high probability that you will be arrested when required to present identification. To determine if you have a warrant, you can do so by phone or online in some cases. The city of Las Vegas has created an online searchable database but the various courts of Clark County require you to call. It is important to search your status with all applicable agencies and jurisdictions as warrant information is not always shared between agencies. For more info on the process of finding out if you have a warrant see our blog entry.

Please Note: Due to occasional policy changes, 8-Ball Bail Bonds recommends checking with the respective jail or prison to get the most up to date information prior to scheduling visitation.
