The North Las Vegas Detention Center is run by the City of North Las Vegas. According to the City’s jail page, it’s a pre-trial jail for men and women. It opened on July 1, 2020. It holds up to 500 people in three housing units and has its own booking and intake area. Google Maps lists it as North Las Vegas Corrections.

The Clark County Detention Center (CCDC) is a separate jail. It’s at 330 S. Casino Center Blvd. in Las Vegas, (702) 671-3900.

North Las Vegas Inmate Search: How to Find Someone

Use the City of North Las Vegas Offender Search to look someone up by last and first name. The City doesn’t guarantee the results are accurate or complete, so call the jail at (702) 633-1400 to confirm. If the person may be held somewhere else, use the Clark County inmate search.

Booking records can take time to appear online, often four to six hours after an arrest, depending on how busy the jail is. Give us a name and we’ll check the Clark County Detention Center, Las Vegas City Jail, North Las Vegas Detention Center, and Henderson Detention Center for you, at no charge and no obligation, and let you know as soon as the charges and bail amount show up in the system. Call (702) 545-0888 or see our free inmate search help.

When and Where Bail Is Accepted

It depends on the court, the day and the time. Here’s what the City and the courts publish.

At the Courts

North Las Vegas Municipal Court accepts bail “from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, excluding all recognized holidays.” To post bail on a Municipal Court charge, call (702) 633-1130. The City’s bail bond page says cash bail is accepted at the Municipal Court only during business hours. It also says, “A $50 bail bond fee is required for each bail bond posted at the Court.”

North Las Vegas Justice Court accepts bail “from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday,” according to the City. The court’s own website lists office hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. To post bail on a Justice Court charge, call the court at (702) 455-7801 before you go. The court’s fee schedule (effective January 1, 2017) lists a $50 fee for filing and processing each bail or property bond.

At the North Las Vegas Detention Center

The City says the North Las Vegas Detention Center, 2332 Las Vegas Blvd. North, accepts bail and bonds “between 5 p.m. and midnight Monday through Thursday, Fridays, weekends and holidays.” For bail bond instructions, call (702) 633-1400, ext. 5710. The City’s pages don’t say whether bail is accepted between midnight and 7 a.m. Monday through Thursday.

Releasing the Person’s Property for Bail

The City’s inmate handbook (revised July 2020) says property can be released for bail from 8 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. Property is all or nothing: everything is released except personal clothing. The person in custody fills out a Property Release Request that names who gets it. To release money, they also write down the amount and the reason. The person named then starts the release at the Reception window with a picture ID.

What a Bail Bond Costs

The City says a judge sets the bail amount and decides whether all of it or a percentage must be posted. A cash-only bond means the full amount is posted in cash. No bail schedule is published for North Las Vegas. No bail agency, including us, can confirm the exact charge or bail amount until the arresting agency finishes booking and that information shows up in the system.

Nevada law sets the bail bond premium at 15% of the bond amount, or $50, whichever is greater (NRS 697.300). That’s the same at every licensed agency in the state. For example, if bail is set at $10,000, the premium is $1,500. On $1,000 bail, the premium is $150. The City’s bail bond page says the percentage “is the bond company’s fee, and you do not get that money back.”

Payment plans start at 5% down, subject to approval. Approval isn’t based on a credit score. It’s based on a personal review of your situation. We accept credit and debit cards, Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency, and cash at our office.

Which Court Handles the Case

It depends on the charge.

North Las Vegas Municipal Court handles traffic violations and misdemeanors that happen inside North Las Vegas city limits. It’s at 2332 Las Vegas Blvd. North, Suite 100, North Las Vegas, NV 89030, (702) 633-1130.

North Las Vegas Justice Court also hears traffic and misdemeanor cases. It handles felony and gross misdemeanor cases from arrest through the preliminary hearing, including setting bail. It’s at 2428 N. Martin L. King Blvd., Building A, North Las Vegas, NV 89032, (702) 455-7801.

If the Justice Court finds enough evidence, a felony or gross misdemeanor case is sent to Clark County District Court for trial. Some cases get there through a grand jury indictment instead.

Our agents know all three courts.

Visiting, Mail and Money

The visiting and mail rules below come from the City’s inmate handbook, revised July 2020. Call the jail at (702) 633-1400 to confirm before you go.

Visiting. Family and friends can visit without physical contact, or by video. Each person in custody can have one visit a week. Up to two visitors can come at a time, including children. Visitors must be on the person’s approved list, which can have up to five names. The jail returns the list, approved or denied, within 5–7 calendar days. Someone held before trial can get visits if their court date is at least 7 days after they turn in their visitor list. Visitors need a current government-issued photo ID. Anyone under 18 must come with a parent or guardian. Visiting hours aren’t posted online. A public transit stop is directly in front of the building.

Mail and phones. Address mail to the person like this:
Last name, first name (as given at booking) and I.D. number
Housing unit and room number
2332 Las Vegas Blvd. North #120
North Las Vegas, NV 89030

Mail is delivered Monday through Friday. Phones are in each housing unit.

Money. The City says you can add money for someone in custody through Access Corrections: online, by phone or at walk-in locations. The handbook says deposit fees apply, and that cash, checks and money orders can’t be mailed to the jail.

After Release: Court Dates

Make sure you know the court date. If there’s a citation, the appearance date is on it. For a North Las Vegas Municipal Court case, look it up by name on the court’s online portal or call (702) 633-1130. For a North Las Vegas Justice Court case, call (702) 455-7801. We also send court-date reminders.

If a court date is missed: Under Nevada law, the court orders an arrest warrant and notifies the bail agent. The bond can be forfeited 180 days after that notice (NRS 178.508). Call us right away. We’ll work with you to get a new court date and get the bond out of forfeiture.

Release Times and Transfers

The City doesn’t publish release times for the North Las Vegas Detention Center. It also doesn’t publish a rule about moving people from this jail to the Clark County Detention Center. To check where someone is, use the City’s Offender Search or call the jail.
